Membership in the Tazewell County Historical Society has reached nearly 300, with people from all over the country who have ties to Tazewell County or Southwestern Virginia.
Membership dues are only $25 per year for an Individual Membership, $35 per year for a Sustaining Membership, or $40 per Couple. One subscription per membership is given to the semi-annual Tazewell County Historical Society newsletter, a magazine-style publication prepared and edited by volunteers. You will receive the next issue following receipt of your membership fee. The membership year is from January through December. You may also participate in our group tours as part of your membership and attend our monthly meetings that often include informational sessions. We have previously privately toured the Deskins-Maxwell home, the Stuart home, most recently Ellenbrook.
We also welcome donations in addition to the annual fee. Contributions help maintain the historic Greever House, our headquarters. We are a non-profit 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law, however membership is not.
Monthly meeting are held the second Sunday of each month at 2:30 pm and are held at our headquarters at 100 E Main Street in Tazewell, VA (unless we meet elsewhere for a tour). You are welcome to stop by then or during our Wednesday/Thursday hours for more information. As our volunteer’s schedules permit, we are open each Wednesday from 10:00 am through 1:00 pm and on Thursday from 6:00 pm through 7:30 pm.
